Custom Protein Expression Services
KareBay™ Biochem provides a comprehensive protein expression services and protein purification using both mammalian cells and bacteria systems. Generally, mammalian expression systems are suitable for glycosylated protein expression. Mammalian cells are widely used in the production of recombinant proteins and antibodies. Bacteria expression systems are preferred for non-glycosylated proteins because they are simpler, quicker and less expensive. Recombinant proteins are mainly used for biochemical and functional assays, antigen generation and a variety of other applications. We also offer a full service for protein purification. Our objective is to ensure efficient and high quality protein production for your R&D needs.
In addition, we perform a series of protein characterization and protein-based assays to meet your needs. It is worth mentioning that various enzyme activity-based assays allow high throughput drug screening to be performed. For example, we can provide you with kinase and protease activity assay services, as well as related biochemicals such as inhibitors, activators and substrates.
Once your order is confirmed, Karebay Biochem will initiate your protein expression and protein purification project using a plasmid obtained either from gene synthesis or from your own laboratory. The desired gene will be subcloned into an expression vector to express the targeted protein in bacteria. One liter of culture will be grown using our optimized protocol. Proteins can be purified using any common epitope tag of interest (FLAG, HIS, V5, c-myc, and HA).
